At Bayshore Cosmetic Surgery, we are constantly asked which procedure is the most effective, liposuction or a tummy tuck. The answer depends on the condition of your body, allowing for the least invasive procedure to create the maximum benefit.

Liposuction
Liposuction is the least invasive procedure, producing fewer risks. If you do not have an overabundance of fatty tissue, this is an excellent way to gain a more pleasing silhouette.
The Miami Tummy Tuck
If you have excess skin, and need a more intensive protocol, liposuction and a tummy tuck can be done together, as in the case of Dr. Bernabe Vazquez’s Miami Tummy Tuck. This technique combines a tummy tuck with liposuction to provide a less invasive yet thoroughly effective system to contour the abdominal area, requiring less cutting, lifting, and drainage.
With less damage to the abdominal wall, the combination of procedures yields far less scarring than one would find with a conventional tummy tuck. Of course, not everyone is
eligible for this protocol, as it depends on the amount of skin and tissue to be removed.
The Full or Mini Miami Tummy Tuck
If indeed you have excess fat and skin resulting from multiple pregnancies, extreme weight loss, or other similar situations, a full tummy tuck will be advised. When the abdominal muscles have been stretched too far for them to unite on their own, a complete tummy tuck can tighten up the area to create a more flattering silhouette. When fatty deposits are mainly below the bellybutton, it is possible to have a partial or
mini tummy tuck, which is an effective way to remove the bulge.
