Tired of Looking tired

Are you tired of looking tired? It’s true what they say, some people wear their heart on their sleeve. But for many others… it’s more like we wear our exhaustion on our face. Thankfully, for those of us who can’t hide chronic fatigue, sagging eyelids or heavy brows with enough liquid foundation… other options exist.

You don’t want to carry your under-eye baggage with you into 2021 – leave it FIRMLY planted in the past with these cosmetic surgery options.

Upper Blepharoplasty

An upper blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is the perfect cosmetic procedure for anyone who wants to improve the appearance of their upper and/or lower lids. Whether you have issues with bags under your eyes or you suffer from unsightly, excessive fatty deposits, this simple procedure can take years off your face with a few simple incisions.

Your surgeon will make an incision in your natural crease above your eye and remove a precise amount of excess skin and fat and may adjust the surrounding muscles and this only takes 45 minutes to 2 hours. The first 1 to 2 weeks will include some bruising and swelling but most patients can drive about after a week and are able to return to work 10-14 days after the procedure.

Brow Lift

In most cases, your board-certified plastic surgeon may suggest an accompanying procedure known as a brow lift which perfectly compliments the upper blepharoplasty. What is a brow lift? By literally lifting the sagging skin of your face, this procedure drastically reduces the appearance of wrinkles on the forehead and has the added bonus of reducing frown lines in the process.

There are three different types of brow lifts ranging from the least-invasive – the endoscopic brow lift – to the limited incision brow lift, which is typically performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery, all the way to the classic, or coronal brow lift, which is the most invasive of the three.

Most patients are able to return to work after about a week, resume driving in 1 to 2 weeks and resume regular exercise routines within 2 to 4 weeks. Wearing sunscreen, eating a healthy diet, abstaining from smoking will help you to keep enjoying your brow lift for years to come!

If you’re tired of looking tired, talk to your board-certified plastic surgeon and see if a brow lift or an upper blepharoplasty might be right for you. Dr. Bernabe Vazquez has performed literally thousands of both upper and lower eyelid modification procedures in and around the Miami, FL area.
